Hello all. I'm going to be spending part of my winter in Mesa and I was wondering if anybody might be interested in having a newbie tag along on one of you trips. I don't have any way to get out in the boonies with my truck. It is our only vehicle and I can't take a chance on messing it up. We need it to pull our fifth wheel. We are full time RVers. I don't have any dates yet but as soon as I do I'll let you all know. Thanks,
Ray

My suggestion would be to join one of the local prospecting clubs. Most have claims that are not too difficult to access.

If you want to learn a lot in a short period of time....go to the GPAA outing in Stanton over the New Years Holiday. It is a 'safe' road for your truck and trailer. Lots of nice people will be detecting and dry washing (weather permitting). You don't need to be a GPAA member to camp on the public land, BUT you would need to join IF you want to prospect. I may be going this year...

Thanks guys for your advice. I will probably do as you suggested but I don't know for sure when I will be arriving in Mesa. We had planned on spending our winter in Gulf Shores, Al. but heard of a nice park in Mesa so we are going to split our winter and head down to Az. but not sure when. I am going to join the GPAA also. I would really like to get down that way for the outing in Stanton but probably won't make it this year. If you can give me any info on clubs in the area that I might contact ahead of time that would be helpful too. Thanks again,
Ray
