After 2 days of new patch hunting with no gold, I needed a gold fix so I headed out to a trashy gully to spend a few hours. After years of detecting this large gully , I knew there was still some gold in it. There's just no way to dig all the trash. With mines , windmill, corrals, along it and a road running down the gully in spots , there is a never ending supply of metal trash which comes down it with every rain storm . Some targets are obviously trash, many are hard to tell , but eventually I usually can pull a few nuggets out. In fact I'm sure I've found over a hundred nuggets in it. Most are small but I got one 1/4 ouncer there years ago. These added up to 2.1 grams for a pretty good day and a welcome end to the skunk. I was using the 14"E advantage coil on the 4500.----Bob

Dean. It was perfect weather for sure. 70 degrees without even a breeze. Felt good after the last few cold windy days. The only downside was the bee that got in my shirt and stung me on the belly. ----Bob

Montana,
Skunk Busters, I know what you mean! Nothing like a couple of standbye patches to run the skunk off. Now your recharged to explore somemore! Good luck.

Had another zero day hunting for a new spot, so reverted to an old patch again to get another fix to tide me over. It isn't much but has a nice cubic structure to it.----Bob

Montana,
Wish I could have found one of them skunk busters today! My standbye patch was 3/4 miles away...headed home with my tail between my legs. Keep the poke growing!

WTG Bob; any gold is good gold...
I've been patch hunting around on the north side of the El Paso Mountains the last couple of days without success; think I'll try gridding out at the Summit Diggings tomorrow and see what turns up. Third day is a charm, me hopes!

We're both overdue for a
nice patch.
